Dying art form saves Air Force millions
Linda Lewis, 437th Aircrew Flight Equipment fabrication shop, uses a sewing machine to fabricate a seat cover used on a C-17 Globemaster III Feb. 20, 2014, at Joint Base Charleston – Air Base, S.C. Lewis and nine other civilians work in the fabrication shop which saves the Air Force more than one million dollars every year by fabricating all fabric-related material used on JB Charleston’s C-17s.
