CATAM: Weapon knowledge is key
Staff Sgt. Julius Taylor, 628th Security Forces Squadron Combat Arms Training and Maintenance instructor, performs a function check function check on an M-4 carbine rifle July 30, 2013, at Joint Base Charleston – Air Base, S.C. This process ensures the disconnectors, springs, and sear are in working order. This process will validate the safety feature, semi and three round burst parts of the weapon and ensure the operator is operating a safe weapon as it is designed to perform.
