AFREP team innovates, modernizes KC-135 pilot flight operations

Staff Sgt. Tyler Ferris, 92nd Maintenance Group Air Force Repair Enhancement Program technician, tightens a screw to a KC-135 Stratotanker galley Oct. 16, 2017, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. The AFREP program saves money through cost savings and cost avoidance. Through cost savings, an asset is repaired instead of thrown away and put back into the Air Force inventory. Through cost avoidance, the AFREP team finds equipment that is around their facility in need of repair and rather than throw it away and buy new equipment, they repair it and put it back into service.
