Flew from fighter to cargo: Pilot gains rare breadth of knowledge
Maj. Jonathan Mahan, a C-17 Globemaster III pilot assigned to the 14th Airlift Squadron, fastens his seatbelt as he assumes control of the aircraft May 14, 2019, during flight training operations over the Gulf of Mexico. Mahan went from operating fighters on the frontline in an F-15 Eagle to delivering people, supplies and other cargo in a C-17 Globemaster III.
