19th SFS female defenders receive new body armor
Staff Sgt. Nykiah Mitchell, 19th Security Forces Squadron base defense operations center controller, turns in her old body armor in exchange for her new female body armor at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, March 8, 2021. The new body armor variant has a curved chest plate, a shorter torso size and an adjustable back corset that tightens to fit the wearer. The adjustable corset helps the new armor avoid the old version’s problem of being ‘one size fits all,’ closing in gaps and preventing exposure to risk.
