Nightmare to miracle: REACH 797 reflects on mission
Members of the August 2019 mission, REACH 797, recently reunited via Zoom to discuss the events that led up to that day and how each played a role in a Soldier’s survival. The Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, C-17 Globemaster III flew a non-stop, 8,000-mile flight from Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, to San Antonio, Texas, after Ryan, an Army Soldier, was critically wounded in an improvised explosive blast.
