Rota is located across the bay from the romantic city of Cadiz, the oldest city and shipping port in Spain. Nestled in the Andalusian region, the area is famous for its sherry, flamenco and sevillana dancing, and the breeding of prize horses and fighting bulls. Spain offers a wide variety of historical sights and cultural experiences. Places to stay. On-base billeting is very limited. Personnel on orders should have reservations prior to arrival.

Off-base billeting. You may find hotels in Rota, El Puerto de Santa Maria, Jerez de la Frontera and Chipiona. The months of July, August and September are the summer high season and you may experience problems to book rooms unless reservations are made ahead of time.

The USO is located in the hall-way next to the main lobby at the Air Terminal.
- Hours of operation are: Monday through Friday from 08:30 to 16:30 and AMC flights supported.
