WARRIOR HEART

From General Minihan

Mobility Warriors,

In the book Call Sign Chaos: Learning to Lead, former Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis shared the following quote, “If you haven’t read hundreds of books, you are functionally illiterate, and you will be incompetent because your personal experiences alone aren’t broad enough to sustain you.”  I could not agree more and know my personal experiences will not sustain me.  As Warriors we must take an active approach to our personal growth, seeking out knowledge from the experiences of others.

This is a collection of books I have found impactful, with more titles to come. These days I do less reading in the traditional sense but instead devour audiobooks at a rate like never before. Whether it’s while commuting or working out, I am grateful for the perspectives and insights gained from many amazing authors.

It’s our obligation as Warriors to hone our crafts, sharpen our minds, and ensure we remain informed.  I hope these titles spark conversations in your echelons and with your family and friends.  Proud to serve alongside each of you… LET’S GO!
