"Dana has been a tremendous and selfless supporter of the military, Air Mobility Command and joint-service missions," said Gen. Carlton D. Everhart II, AMC commander. "Her leadership in the community and with the military has directly led to ensuring our Airmen and families are cared for, feel valued, and are actively integrated into the community we serve."
Despite her full time job, Lancellotti is the secretary, past chairman of the board and co-founder of the Ocean County Military Support Committee. She formed the organization to strengthen the ties between Ocean County and the base, and provide a forum for dialogue about how each entity can help the other. Lancellotti has been an honorary commander at Joint Base Mcguire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, since 2012 serving in three different organizations. In 2015, she was chosen to be an AMC civic leader.
Lancellotti is also a member of the Monmouth Ocean Development Council and the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. A highlight of her work to link the base and the community is a program she created. The Honorary Civic Leader program introduces military spouses and community leaders in hope of getting the spouses more involved in community activities.
She has also organized, implemented and co-sponsored several community-military meet and greets to discuss issues of mutual interest between the base and community. As a key member of the Ocean County team, Lancellotti worked with a neighboring county to provide joint-county assistance to JB MDL. She keeps the community informed about AMC on the Ocean County Military Support Committee’s Facebook page and regularly works to correct misperceptions about the base.
