A new face graces the Airlift/Tanker Association Hall of Fame in front of the 375th Airlift Wing headquarters building.

Retired Maj. Gen. James "Bagger" Baginski revealed his own bronze bust Oct. 2 as part of the A/TA Hall of Fame Memorial. In addition, Gen. Duncan McNabb commander of Air Mobility Command, and retired Chief Master Sgt. Mark Smith, A/TA national president, unveiled a dedication plaque of the A/TA founders.

"This is a great day for a great American ... and it is certainly fitting that we recognize [General Baginski] today," said General McNabb during the ceremony. "He is a wonderful pilot, patriot, leader, and mentor."

"Everyone at Air Mobility is deeply indebted to the Bagger," said General McNabb. "He foresaw and shaped the future of air mobility and then made it happen."

After retiring in 1984, General Baginski's keen awareness of individual's potential did not cease. He never ceased to care about the career development of those he encountered, said General McNabb.

General Baginski's war stories have helped shape A/TA into the organization it is today, said General McNabb. "Many mobility warriors grew up on your war stories."

Throughout his Air Force career, General Baginski dedicated much of his time to promoting the air mobility mission, said Chief Smith. "He continues to devote his time and effort to improving air mobility weapons systems, policies and quality of life for tens of thousands in the command."

General Baginski is a founding member of the A/TA and is currently the chairman of the Board of Advisors to the Board of Officers.
