JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- An Airman assigned to the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Operations School was recognized as Air Mobility Command’s 2020 Outstanding Security Forces Support Staff Senior Non-commissioned Officer, Feb. 12, 2021.
Master Sgt. Eric Godinez, Air Force Doctrine Manager, 423rd Mobility Training Squadron, was recognized for the extraordinary contributions he has made to the USAF from Oct. 1, 2019 to Sept. 30, 2020.
Lt. Col. Christopher MacDonald, 423rd MTS commander, presented the award to Godinez during a recognition ceremony that was attended by his family, squadron, and USAF Expeditionary Operations School leadership.
“I field phone calls and emails about Master Sgt. Godinez form headquarters Air Force and AMC on a routine basis,” said MacDonald. “And they want him to play a critical role in things such as developing a Security Forces Weapons and Tactics plan that will ultimately be implemented at all Air Force Security Forces units throughout the world.”
MacDonald, who thinks Godinez has a good chance at the Air Force level noted, “We as Airmen strive to live integrity, service, excellence … that is Eric, he is an amazing Airman. He takes initiative, he works autonomously and he gets things done.”
After receiving his award, Godinez thanked his family for their support and voiced his appreciation to his command team.
“I never came to you with an idea that I knew would not be listened to,” said Godinez. “You empowered me to go and move out on things and I appreciate that.”
Godinez will now go onto compete at the Air Force level against SNCOs across the other Air Force major commands.
The 423rd Mobility Training Squadron is aligned under the USAF Expeditionary Operations School at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. The mission of the 423rd MTS is to train and educate professional expeditionary Airmen, develop combat support tactics, techniques, and procedures that enable warfighters to operate effectively in complex environments.
