ASAB motor vehicle fatality investigation results released

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Illinois -- Air Mobility Command released the results of its investigation into a vehicle accident that occurred at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, Sept. 14, 2020, which resulted in the death of a staff sergeant assigned to the 386th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron.

 

Staff Sergeant Ronald J. Ouellette, 23, of Merrimack, N.H., died September 14 in a single all-terrain vehicle non-combat related accident at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait. He was deployed from the 42nd Aerial Port Squadron, Westover Air Reserve Base, Mass.

 

Ouellette was a passenger in the vehicle when it rolled onto the passenger side after the mishap vehicle operator lost control performing a sharp left-hand turn on the sand surface. Ouellette was pinned underneath the vehicle and died instantly from severe head trauma. Neither the mishap vehicle operator nor Ouellette were wearing seatbelts, personal protective equipment or proper clothing.
