Fallon Emery, second from right, a new honorary member of the 437th Operations Support Squadron, walks on the flight line with 1st Lt. Thad Sollick, left, a C-17 Globemaster III pilot assigned to the 437th OSS, Nov. 7, 2018, after touring a C-17 at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., as part of the Airman for a Day program. During her visit, 14-year-old Emery also toured a C-17 flight simulator, learned about night vision and other military technology, controlled an explosive ordnance disposal robot and met with 437th Airlift Wing senior leaders. The Airman for a Day program recognizes the resilience of children battling various illnesses by enabling them to observe Air Force units and experience their culture for a day. Also pictured are her mother Melanie, center, her sister Mae, second from left, and Deborah “Flash” Stephenson, right, founder and director of Courageous Kidz – who helped organize the visit.
