    Air Force commander awarded Military Service Award at BEYA 2020

    Founded in 2006, the Stars and Stripes dinner is a key event during the three-day Black Engineer of the Year Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Global, Competitiveness conference. As one of the nation’s largest gatherings of top military and civilian federal government leaders, corporate sponsors, students, family and STEM advocates, the event focuses on building interest in STEM fields and recognizing the contributions of military men and women.

    Little Rock AFB hosts Arkansas’ largest STEM Fest

    Little Rock Air Force Base hosted Arkansas’ largest STEM festival in conjunction with the Thunder Over the Rock Air and Space Show, with field trip day Oct. 26 that drew more than 20,000 attendees, over 13,000 of whom were students.

    Scott Airmen inspire youth at Community Science Showcase

    SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Scott Air Force Base, an installation with a wide range of cyber capabilities and active duty computer and software programmers, recently collaborated with the St. Louis Science Center to help expose youth to the STEM-related career fields in the Air Force at the Community Science Showcase Jan. 16. “Many people in our community aren’t lucky enough to interact with STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) professionals in their daily lives, so participating in outreach events like this is critical,” said Chief Master Sgt. Diane Slazinik, 375th Communications Group superintendent.
