  • Reservists fly in 10th Annual Salute From the Shore

    Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 315st Airlift Wing at Joint Base Charleston are scheduled to fly a C-17 Globemaster III down the coast of South Carolina, July 4, 2019, as part of the 10th Annual Salute from the Shore. Along with the C-17 being flown by the 315 AW from Joint Base Charleston, Marine Aircraft Group 31 from Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort are scheduled to fly F/A-18C Hornets down the coast in formation.

  • JB Charleston evacuates aircraft from hurricane zone, maintains airlift capabilities

    Joint Base Charleston personnel assigned to the 437th Airlift Wing and 628th Air Base Wing began evacuation flights for 24 C-17 Globemaster III aircraft Sept. 11, 2018, in anticipation of Hurricane Florence making landfall. The aircraft and supporting personnel planned and executed flights from Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina to three designated safe locations within 48 hours of notification, a move designed to sustain the wing’s airlift capability.
