  • Fairchild’s newest squadron completes first mission

    Team Fairchild’s 97th Air Refueling Squadron successfully completed its first mission by supporting a 97th Air Lift Squadron C-17 Globemaster III from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Jan. 14. The 97th ARS reactivated in October 2019, in order to support 12 additional KC-135 Stratotankers and an estimated 1,000 Airmen and families being transferred to Fairchild.
  • Global partners work together to streamline C-17 operations

    Personnel from the 305th Air Mobility Wing, U.S. Air Force leaders and Boeing Co. representatives hosted the C-17 Globemaster III Enterprise Home Station Check Lean Event here, June 18. The Air Force-wide enterprise event brought together everyone affiliated with the C-17 missions and worked to minimize the time frame for the aircraft’s home station check process, which is a required scheduled inspection. All participants who attended worked to streamline and lean out productivity issues.
  • Dover Airmen lifeline to hurricane survivors

    Dover Air Force Base Airmen have a proud history of delivering help in dire situations all across the world. No matter the circumstance, these men and women can be on site in a short amount of time providing hope for those in need. The 3rd Airlift Squadron from the 436th Airlift Wing supported relief efforts for Katrina and Haiti and the squadron continues this tradition with the C-17 Globemaster III by transporting essential recovery supplies to the survivors of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
  • ANG units fly first, last C-130 deployments

    Big changes are in the works for two Air National Guard units deployed to the 737th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron at the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing in Southwest Asia. The Connecticut ANG has transitioned from the A-10 Thunderbolt II and the C-21 Cougar to the C-130H Hercules, which it is currently flying on its first C-130 deployment. On the other hand, the Charlotte ANG, out of North Carolina, will be flying its last Hercules mission as it prepares to transition to the C-17 Globemaster III.
